The Seven Deadly Sins: Society And Evil - Stanford M. Lyman

The Seven Deadly Sins: Society and Evil - Stanford M. Lyman

The Seven Deadly Sins is a wonderful introduction to the humanities. It takes each of the classic sins--Sloth, Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Dopey, Sleepy and Doc--describes the conceptuatl origins of these sins, and then explains how these sins are played out in modernity. It's sociology, but more than sociology. It is an interdisciplinary examination of sin. Fun, fascinating read.
